Immelt (born February 19, 1956) is an American business executive who is the current chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of General Electric (GE).

Early Life and Education

Immelt was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Donna Rosemary Immelt, a schoolteacher, and Joseph Francis Immelt, an executive at GE.

He earned a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Dartmouth College, where he played football and was president of the Phi Delta Alpha fraternity.
